Job Description

Newmont Ghana Gold Limited, a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation, one of the world's largest Gold mining companies, is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced persons for this position at its Ahafo Mine.

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Metallurgist and will focus on the development and maintenance of Metallurgical systems.

Essential Duties:
Maintain, develop and implement the following metallurgical systems:

• PI historian - Process Administrator
• OCS Mill Expert System - Maintain and implement new control strategies as required. Identify program shortcoming and improve
• JKSimMet - Build, develop and run different plant simulations
• Metallurgical Accounting and improving on current practice
• Develop metallurgical reports utilizing Microsoft Excel -Visual Basic

1. Keep current with mineral processing technology and the practical experienced of other operations
2. Perform necessary project implementation required by operational or metallurgical department

The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and not necessarily all inclusive

Required Skills or Experience

• At least a degree in Information Technology/Extractive Metallurgy with a strong focus on Information Technology
• A minimum of 4 years or more of field experience or equivalent combination of training and experience in information technology with a focus on metallurgical methods/processes
• Exceptionally strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel/Visual Basic
• Possess Project Management and communication skills
