Abosso Goldfields Ltd is a subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited is looking to fill out the position for Superintendent Metallurgical Production – Ghana Exploration. We are located in a tropical climate; the Damang Gold Mine is a world-class operation, consisting of 25 Mtpa open pit-mining operations and a 5.2 Mtpa CIL metallurgical plant. The mine is situated in the Western Region of Ghana and is ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 certificated. It has a current Life of Mine expectancy to the year 2019 and beyond. JOB SUMMARY Company Gold Fields Industry Mining Category Engineering Location Tarkwa Job Status Full-time Salary GH¢  Education Tertiary Experience 5 years Job Expires 20 Jun, 2012 Job Description  You must be a self motivated person to assist with the supervision and execution of all professional, technical and operational input for sustainable plant throughput and gold recovery at minimum cost by using your skills, knowledge and experience. The incumbent will focus mainly on safety, maintenance, equipment availability and ensure the identification and elimination of waste. Key Responsibilities: Reviewing and monitoring process parameters developing innovative and cost effective operating methodologies Providing leadership, guidance, support and back-up to operational and maintenance personnel in order to develop the team to increase efficiency and achieve targets Ensuring utmost adherence to mine standards and legislation at the work place Providing input to all project evaluations such as capital expenditure proposals and/or plant/process modifications Mentor subordinates by using a competency based training system General management duties Management of reline schedules and liner stock Planning and managing plant shutdowns to maximize time available for plant maintenance and processing jobs whilst ensuring minimal production losses Ensuring that effective operational standards and procedures are developed and implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements Required Skills or Experience Tertiary qualification in Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering or Extractive Metallurgy Relevant senior technical experience in a continuous minerals process operation Minimum of five years working experience in a high tonnage throughout gold ore processing plant Be an innovative thinker, driven results achievement Be resilient and resourceful and have a high level integrity Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in English Be prepared to work extended hours on and hoc basis have successfully undergone security screening Medical fitness for the position and environment A valid driver's license and proficiency in driving light vehicles It would be advantageous if applicants have: Knowledge on carbon-in-leach gold plants Plant design and gold accounting experience Production Superintendents' Certificate of Competency How To Apply Interested parties should submit their Curriculum Vitae to: Gladys Opoku Yeboah  Human Resources Superintendent Gold Fields Ghana Limited P.
