JOB SUMMARY Company: AngloGold Ashanti Industry: Mining Category: Engineering Location: Obuasi Job Status: Full-time Salary: GH¢  Education: BSc Experience: 2 years Job Expires: 09 Jul, 2012 Job Description Major Responsibilities: To assist Geotechnical Engineering Superintendent with the investigations into producing and planned mining blocks, capital projects etc. Details of Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will assist the Geotechnical Engineering Superintendent to:  Carry out geotechnical investigations of various activities Collect relevant geotechnical data including Rock Mass Quality data for various Mining Blocks Carry out ground mine and support designs for all Mining Blocks Assist in collecting data for appropriate mining method selection and stope size designs, support for minimising dilution/premature failures. This will be based on the Stability Number and Hydraulic Radius calculations for the area Collect information on backfill for various stopes. Carry out quality control, where necessary Monitor ground conditions and support performance and issue reports Carry out kinematic analyses of rock blocks and wedges in and around underground excavations using available geotechnical software Install geotechnical instruments to monitor ground movements in and around underground excavations Required Skills or Experience BSc - Mining/Civil Engineering At least Two (2) Years working experience in a similar capacity How To Apply Interested and eligible persons are to forward their applications with detailed Curriculum Vitae to the following address: The Ag.
