Chemonics International has Agricultural openings and jobs in Ghana to recruit Agricultural Policy Officers. For more than 36 years, Chemonics International, a U.S.-based international development consulting firm, has partnered with local and international organizations to promote social and economic change in Africa and around the world. 

Our work began in West Africa in 1976 in Cameroon, where we improved rice production and in 1977 in Mali where we revived a drought-depleted livestock sector.

Job Description

Chemonics International, a leading U.S.-based international development consulting firm, seeks expressions of interest from senior and mid-level policy professionals for an anticipated five-year USAID-funded policy and capacity-building project designed to improve the enabling environment for private sector development and improved food security.

The program will focus on agricultural policy activities to increase the competitiveness of the rice, maize, soya and marine fisheries value chains.  These activities are expected to involve agricultural policy research, formulation, implementation and policy advocacy.

Chemonics is recruiting for both long-or- short-term assignments in the following technical areas:

  • Agricultural policy research and analysis
  • Agricultural legislative drafting
  • Issue analysis and advocacy
  • Data collection, management and statistical analysis
  • Institutional strengthening
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • USAID grants management

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications for technical staff:

  • Minimum of Master's degree in agriculture, policy, or business-related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in Ghana
  • Prior experience with USAID projects highly preferred
  • Experience working collaboratively with the Government of Ghana, private sector actors,     and USAID or other donors preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and fluency in English required
