JOB SUMMARY Company: Tema Oil Refinery Industry: Oil/ Gas Category: Engineering Location: Accra Job Status: Full-time Salary: GH¢  Education: University degree Experience: 8 years Job Expires: 21 Nov, 2012 Job Description Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Ltd, refiners of crude petroleum, requires for immediate appointment a suitably qualified person for the position of Safety Manager. The successful candidate shall be responsible for providing leadership in dealing with all issues relating to safety. Job Function: Reporting to the General Manager for Health, Safety, Security and Environment, the Safety Manager shall: Ensure that all Company policies and procedures relating to Safety are communicated, understood and adhered to at all Company locations; Ensure the promotion and development of a strong safety culture within the refinery Roles and Responsibilities: Key roles and responsibilities of the Safety Manager shall include: Ensuring that procedures which guarantee safe working conditions are followed at all times through continuous reinforcement mechanisms which monitor safety performance Providing leadership to Process Safety Management (PSM) Champions to ensure successful PSM system implementation; Ensuring that emergency response equipment are maintained in good working condition and ready for use in emergency; Conducting regular competency training for staff; Conducting regular emergency drills to sharpen skills and combat readiness of staff Conducting Job Safety Analysis (JSA), hazard identification, risk assessment and control on all processes and activities; Co-ordinating effective tool box meetings on relevant safety topics for employees; Leading all efforts towards the creation of zero-injury safety culture; and Any other responsibilities to be assigned Superior Required Skills or Experience Must possess a Degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Metallurgical/Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution with a minimum of eight (8) years relevant  experience in Safety Management Certification in Safety management (NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent) would be added advantage Other Requirements: Knowledge in Safety/Loss Control principles and Safety Management Systems (NOSA, OHSAS 18001 etc) Must be goal-oriented with a strong sense of urgency How To Apply Interested persons should forward application with detailed curriculum vitae indicating three (3) referees to provide credible evidence of the applicants professional competencies to the following address: The Ag.
